For
three generations Rockford Auto Glass has been providing a valuable
service to the Mohawk Valley.
The
business was started by Irwin Izzy Rockford in 1938.
Customers would simply drive up to his house in Utica, and wait
while he cut a piece of flat glass and installed it within minutes
into their vehicle. In 1958 he moved the business to their current
location on Washington Street and added an upholstery department.

Marshall
Rockford took over in 1970 for his father Izzy. Marshall then expanded
the business by adding numerous products and service such as car electronics
and truck accessories. In 1982 Marshall purchased Wilcove Auto Glass
& Radiator in Rome. Now known as Wilcove Rockford Auto Glass &
Radiator.
Now
67 years and three generations later the business is operated by Randy
Rockford the successor to his father Marshall since 1995. Randy has
continued on the family tradition of quality, service, and customer
satisfaction. Because installing a windshield today is a far cry from
the way Izzy once did it, safety and customer awareness are now focal
points as well. Randy has recently moved the Rome location into a new,
bigger and more modern facility on Erie Boulevard.
